Empathy Works LLC - FAQ'S
Empathy Works creates thoughtful Care Kits for individuals in hospice, home health, or long-term care
Unlike many "busy boards" or toys that can feel simplistic or childish, our Activity Care Kits are designed specifically to respect the dignity of adults. Each kit is all-inclusive and comes with step-by-step instructions for activities that are engaging and safe, yet sophisticated enough to suit an adult's life experience. We focus on tools that are interesting and purposeful rather than belittling or frustrating for the user.
Our kits are designed for individuals with memory loss (including Alzheimer’s and dementia), limited mobility, intellectual differences, or those receiving hospice and home health care. They are ideal for family caregivers looking for ways to connect with loved ones, as well as home health agencies and hospice providers seeking innovative tools to improve patient outcomes and daily engagement.
Safety is our top priority. We recommend that a competent adult caregiver always assess the individual’s specific physical and cognitive needs before starting an activity. Caregivers should supervise all activities closely, especially if they involve small parts, and adapt the tasks to the person’s current comfort level. We also suggest consulting with a healthcare professional, such as a doctor or occupational therapist, before beginning any new stimulation routine.
